Paramotoring is the latest development in foot launched powered sport aviation.
The use of a small (20kg) harness/power unit in place of your
Paragliding harness will transform your Paragliding canopy into
an incredible "aerial motorcycle"
With a Paramotor you are able to take off from areas as small as a football field
and climb to altitudes as high as 8,000 ft. Flight times on power
alone can be over 2 hours and over five hours if you take advantage
of thermic currents. With an air speed of 40km/h this gives you
scope for a good deal of aerial adventuring.
Because
the same Paragliding canopy used for unpowered Paragliding as
for Paramotoring, you must first complete a full Paraglider licence
course and accumulate a minimum of 25 hrs of unpowered flying
time.
Paramotor units come in a range covering the full range of pilot weights
from 50 kg to 200kg.
Also available are accessories such as electric starting, power
exhausts, induction silencers, as well as three wheeled trike
body for solo and Tandem flying.
When packed up, the whole unit (canopy, motor and harness) will easily
fit in theback of the average car. Talk about portable..... now
when did we plan to drive around Australia ?
